This decadent and entirely scrumptious dessert is healthy, vegan, raw, gluten free and sugar free! Amazing right!? If you’re without allergies or strict dietary standards that long list of freeness just might scare you off… but please don’t let it! This slice is more delicious than one packed with sugar! Ok… so it kind of has sugar in it… all natural though, nothing bad. You can choose 100% pure maple syrup or 100% pure agave nectar to sweeten.
This recipe has been my go-to whenever those pesky chocolate or sugar cravings hit (which they do… a LOT). It has helped me stay away from bad sugars while completely satisfying my sweet-tooth.
Not only does it taste great but it’s ridiculously easy to make. Trust me, you will get so fast at making this! Ok… on to the recipe!
Ingredients:
1/2 cup cocoa powder
4 tbsp. coconut oil (melted)
1/4 cup 100% pure maple syrup or agave nectar
1/2 cup shredded coconut
Note: Feel free to change up the quantities and taste test as you go, you might not like it so sweet or you may not love coconut as much as I do! I don’t even measure the quantities anymore, I know mine are sometimes way off, but the recipe never fails and tastes amazing every time, seemingly no matter how much I screw up the quantities. This recipe is fool proof!
I also found that I ever so slightly prefer the maple syrup version over the agave nectar. I think it’s slightly more sugary but the difference is literally only noticeable when comparing straight after one another, though I believe the agave option comes out slightly cheaper.
Recipe:
- Line a freezer-proof container approx. 17cm x 12cm or 6.5in x 5in with baking (parchment) paper (I use a glass pyrex dish with lid)
- In a bowl mix in melted coconut oil and all other ingredients, stirring until really well combined
- Pour the mixture into your lined container, cover and place in freezer until completely firm (about 30 – 60 mins)
- Remove when ready, lift out the lining and cut into sections
- Eat and Enjoy!

Yummy, thanks I just made some…I doubled the ingredients because I have two hungry boys. Tastes awesome.
Hmmm.. I wonder if this would still work with sugar free maple syrup…
I’ve never even heard of sugar free maple syrup… that’s a thing? Sorry I’m not more helpful but I have no idea. You could try rice malt syrup alternatively too if you’re avoiding fructose.
